Fertility Treatments

For many Irish couples, the journey to parenthood doesn’t happen as quickly or easily as they expect.

Sims IVF offer a range of treatment solutions to help overcome fertility issues and maximise your chance of having a baby. It is our combination of science, experience and care that helps us deliver world-class success rates.

Where possible, we will use the simplest and least invasive option however if required it’s good to know you’ll have access to some of the most advanced reproductive technology in the world.

At Sims we have a holistic approach to treatment. Once we understand what is affecting your fertility, we can discuss all the options based on your personal circumstances and work with you to put together a tailored treatment plan.

If you have been trying to conceive for 12 months (6 months if you are over 35 years of age) we recommend you book an appointment with a fertility specialist.

The first step is to undergo some routine tests to help identify any fertility issues.

Our treatments include:

Fertility Testing

A panel of tests designed to give you an overview of your current fertility status. Ideal for couples or individuals who have recently started trying to conceive or who are considering trying for a baby in the future.

Ovulation induction

Using medication to stimulate your hormones and encourage ovulation.

IUI or Artificial insemination

The procedure involves inserting prepared sperm (from a partner or donor) into the uterus close to the time of ovulation.

IVF

After a course of ovarian stimulation, eggs are collected from the ovaries and fertilised with sperm in the laboratory. One of the resulting embryos is transferred back into the uterus.

ICSI

A more sophisticated form of IVF, where the scientist injects a single sperm into the egg to assist fertilisation.

Preimplantation Genetic Screening

An advanced scientific technique that can be used to screen embryos for a chromosome abnormality and other disorders.

Fertility preservation

Our fertility preservation service is designed to protect and preserve your fertility for the future, including egg and sperm freezing.

Donor programmes

Supportive donor programmes to assist people needing donor sperm or eggs to have a baby.
