Dr. Alejandro Aldape (Alex to his friends) graduated from Nuevo Leon Autonomous University in 2006 (Mexico) and completed speciality training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2010, where he was Chief Resident doctor.
He went to Spain and started IVF training in 2010 in Vall'd Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona. He also studied a Masters degree in Human Reproduction in the main Reproductive Clinic in Spain (IVI). Over the next few years Dr. Aldape honed his expertise in IVF and fertility treatment at a number of specialist clinics in Barcelona, with special interest in ovarian reserve and 'low responder' patients.
Aldape also worked in Equatorial Guinea and Angola performing low complexity assisted reproduction techniques under European guidelines and he established a much needed reproductive service in this region.
Alejandro believes in an integrated approach to patient care based on medical evidence, personalisation and great human warmth.
Unit Manager, Sims IVF Cork
As Unit Manager for Sims IVF Cork, Geraldine Keohane has a pivotal role to ensure the safe and efficient running of the clinic, as well as delivering best results, comfort and support for all patients.
Geraldine is a highly qualified nurse and midwife. Most recently, she worked as Director of Midwifery and Nursing at HSE South, Cork University Maternity Hospital where she led a multi-disciplinary team across Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Neonatology and Midwifery to ensure effective, quality patient-centered care.
Geraldine has 30 years experience as a senior nurse/midwife and she has extensive managerial experience in the Acute Health Sector, Nursing Home Industry, Community Care and Fertility Care.
Geraldine Keohane has a BSc in Nursing and a Masters in Government and Public Policy from University Cork.

Dr Fabian Ward
Dr. Ward originally hails from the hills of Donegal. He adapted the hills of West Cork as his new home and helped set up the SIMs IVF Cork Lab in 2014. He completed his PhD in 2001 which was focused on improving existing IVF techniques at that time and predicting male fertility using a host of in vitro diagnostic tests. During his career as an embryologist, Fabian has been responsible for the introduction of electronic witnessing and vitrification of eggs and embryos in new and existing Irish IVF laboratories.
He believes that a commitment to patient care by focusing on quality management and equipment monitoring in the IVF laboratory are the cornerstone on which the IVF laboratory can best serve the needs of patients.
Fabian is a member of the Irish Clinical Embryologist society (ICE) and also a member of the UK based Association of Clinical Embryologists (ACE).
