The Clinic is presently performing a comparison of the effectiveness of a novel
decapeptyl/triptorelin regimen and
standard hcG as the 'trigger' method for selected patients during IVF. This study is a UK partnership effort with the University of Newcastle.

The Sims Clinic embryo cryopreservation programme is providing data forming a basis of a five year audit of our highly successful blastocyst transfer protocol, the first of its kind in Ireland.

Treatment of recurrent miscarriage represents an important part of practice at the Sims Clinic, and we are actively evaluating several IVF research protocols with a view to further increase live birth rates in this population.

On the reproductive ethics front we are investigating IVF & gestational surrogacy, a complex therapy requiring a high level of clinical coordination. As the first institution to provide this specialised reproductive service in Ireland, the Sims Clinic is well placed to study how a successful IVF surrogacy programme can work to benefit the largest number of patients.
