Dr. Anthony WalshMD MRCOG MRCPI
Dr Walsh graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in 1980. He is the founder, medical director and Consultant Gynaecologist at the Sims Clinic which is Ireland’s largest private fertility treatment unit. Dr. Walsh lectured at Trinity College and is a Consultant at St. Josephs Hospital, Dublin. He has extensive experience in IVF and has worked in fertility units in Europe, the Middle-East and North America.
His initial training was at the Cromwell Hospital in London with Dr. Sam Abdalla, now medical director of the Lister IVF unit and an international authority on Assisted Conception. He founded Irelands’ first independent IVF unit at the Clane Clinic in 1988 and was responsible for Ireland’s first IVF baby and first twins from GIFT. He introduced Irelands first donor sperm IVF programme and co-founded Irelands’ first donor egg programme with Dr. David Walsh at the Sims Clinic. These programmes have resulted in the birth of Irelands first IVF babies using donor egg or donor sperm. He is on the editorial committee of Modern Medicine and the Consultant committee of the Irish Medical Organisation. | |

Dr. David WalshMD MRCOG Dr. Walsh graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1983. He is co-founder, director and Consultant Gynaecologist at the Sims Clinic, Ireland’s largest private fertility treatment unit. Dr. Walsh lectured at Trinity College and is a Consultant at St. Francis Hospital, Mullingar. His initial training was in the Rotunda Hospital which was followed by postgraduate experience in Glasgow during which he became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He completed his thesis in the area of reproductive medicine during this time. He returned to Ireland in 1991 as lecturer in Trinity College, Dublin and completed specialist training in Ireland in addition to Fellowship training in reproductive surgery at Vanderbilt University in the U.S.A He trained in IVF with Dr. Sam Abdallah, medical director at the Lister Hospital in London an international authority on Assisted Conception and with Dr Tony Walsh at Dublin City University and Sims International Fertility Clinic. He is published widely and has a special interest in uterine pre-evaluation and embryo transfer. He developed Ireland’s first donor egg programme together with Dr. Tony Walsh and is an executive member of the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. |  |

Dr. Umme SalmaMRCOG, MRCPI
Having graduated from Karachi University in 1984 and completing her initial training in Pakistan, Dr Umme Salma came to Ireland in 1987 to begin her specialist training. Over the following years she trained in general Obstetrics & Gynaecology in a number of Irish Teaching Hospitals. During that time she acquired her post-graduate degrees of Licentiate in Midwifery from the Rotunda Hospital in 1988, DGO from Trinity College Dublin in 1989, DOB from RCPI in 1990, MRCOG (UK) in 1995, MRCPI from RCPI in 2002, Diploma in Health Management in 2004 and currently she is studying for an MSc in Reproduction & Development at Bristol University.
Dr Umme Salma developed her expertise in Reproductive Medicine whilst working in the Rotunda Hospital as a specialist in fertility in the HARI Unit. During that time she gained further specialist qualifications in Assisted Reproduction. In April 2007 she joined the clinical team at Sims Clinic as a Consultant. In addition to her medical expertise she also brings with her a great sense of humour and a positive attitude |  |

Dr Ahmed B OmarMBBch MRCOG Dr Omar graduated from Ain Shams University [Cairo] in 1989, with subsequent training in Europe where he worked in a number of hospitals including Cork University Hospital, Belfast City Hospital (Queen’s University-Belfast) and University College-Galway.
He next worked as a senior clinical research fellow in London (Homerton University Hospital) where he contributed to a number of research projects focusing on early pregnancy pathology and emergency gynaecology. Following certification by the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in minimal access surgery and gynaecologic ultrasonography, Dr Omar was senior registrar at Cambridge University and Guys & St Thomas (London).
His sub-specialty training in IVF and reproductive medicine was carried out at the Assisted Reproduction & Gynaecology Centre in London under the mentorship of Mr M. Taranissi, a recognised leading figure in assisted reproduction. Dr. Omar maintains a special interest in ovulation induction, reproductive immunology and recurrent implantation failure. He is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists since 1998.

Prof. Michael M. AlperAdvisory Consultant in Research and Development
Prof. Alper joined the Sims Medical Team in January 2007 as Advisory Consultant in Research and Development. He is Medical Director and co-founder of Boston IVF and has previously co-hosted two patient- friendly IVF conferences with Sims Clinic addressing the needs of the patient during treatment.
Board Certified in Reproductive Endocrinology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Prof. Alper received his medical degree from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec. He fulfilled his residency at Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, MA where he also completed his fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Prof. Alper is Clinical Professor at Harvard Medical School. His interest of in vitro fertilization has led him to be involved in specific research studies including NIH-funded "Fasst Track Study", and privately funded, industry sponsored clinical trials. Prof. Alper is responsible for implementing (QMS) Quality Management Systems and will advise on our medical review team for special cases. Dr Alper has published and lectured extensively on the topic of Quality Management and led his medical team in Boston to achieving ISO recognition. |  |

Dr Lyuda Shkrobot - Head of UltrasoundLyuda Shkrobot graduated from the Vinnitsa State Medical University of Ukraine in 1999 and completed her sub-speciality in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2001. Over the next two years Lyuda worked in ontological department where she participated in many surgical procedures. Lyuda took a special interest in Infertility and completed training courses in Reproductive Endocrinology and Pelvic Ultrasound. Lyuda joined Sims Clinic in 2005 and worked in the Ultrasonography department where she is responsible for transvaginal scans and ovulation induction protocols. |  |
